FMS (Flexible Modeling System)
Posted March 20, 2002,18:29
A general geophysical modeling system under development by GFDL, scheduled for release sometime in the first half of 2002. The architecture consists of a coupler layer, a model layer, a distributed grid layer, and a machine layer. It is designed to run of parallel vector, distributed massively parallel and distributed share memory machine architectures. It is built on top of the MPP modules, a modular parallel computing infrastructure written in Fortran 90.
